This is one of the services which the UP Mindanao Library is offering to give our visitors a glimpse of the University's storied past.
Together with the University Records and Archives Center (URAC), the University Library Museum was inaugurated by Chancellor Ricardo M. de Ungria on February 15, 2006. The ULM has has for its mandate the collection, organization, development, maintenance and evaluation of artifacts, realia, and similar collections that are significant to the University.
At present, the ULM has the memorabilia of former Chancellors Dr. Rogelio Verano Cuyno (1995-2001) and Prof. Ricardo M. de Ungria (2001-2007), and the academic regalia of incumbent Chancellor Dr. Gilda Carballo Rivero (2007-2010).
The University Library Museum hopes that this initiative will encourage others who have been involved in the development of UP Mindanao to also donate relevant artifacts and memorabilia. This will help enrich the history of more than half a century of struggle in establishing a campus of the country's premier institution of higher learning in this part of the archipelago.
